One little-known irony of the iPhone's inability to cut and paste is that the gestures Apple appropriated for zooming were the elegant and intuitive "cut" (bring fingers together, as if miming scissors) and "paste" (spread fingers apart, as if smoothing down a pasted object) from Wayne Westerman's original MultiTouch gesture set.(1) OK, not as ironic as it might be: the gesture switch presumably is not the actual reason for the absence of cut-paste,since Westerman's gesturing system was also flexible enough to be user-editable.(2) (Note also in the demo on Westerman's page, or by exploring the Fingerworks(3) site, the lovely "leftie loosey" gesture for open, paired of course with a "rightie-tightie" for close.

    Best to all,
    M.

More than the previous one was. At least from the initial outlay perspective.
