I had seen mind maps floating around previously, but hadn’t really seen them in action until a recent project at work. There we are using a product called MindJet MindManager. It’s quite powerful and cross platform, but also pretty dang expensive for what I wanted to use it for personally. So, I grabbed a copy of the free version of MindNode from the Mac App Store to try out for note taking in class. It works great. And at $20 (less with the edu discount), the Pro version is a great deal.
The site interface is quite nice. I love the meebo bar “drag to share” feature. The downside to having it, it seems, is that the thumbnails are not links to the pages containing more info about the work. You have to click on the text that appears on mouseover.
